MARCI'S STORY

Marci has been in education for over 30 years. Most of that time was spent teaching high school math and SAT Prep. Since 2008, she's been teaching online and homeschooling. 
Frustration with the direction public education was heading helped make the decision to leave the traditional classroom easier. Seeing online students succeed in their studies made Marci realize that the role of a teacher is changing. Or it should be. Teachers and parents can be facilitators guiding students, rather than lecturers talking at students. They don't have to be the center of attention or control all the learning that takes place. Technology is a learning tool, not a side show. And yet, students should NOT be sitting still all day every day. They need to be active learners whenever possible.
